Compost Giveaway

Come to the Albany's Compost Giveaway where Albany households may receive up to four one cubic-foot bags of WM EarthCare Homegrown Compost™. (First-come, first-serve, while supplies last). Product Waiver Forms must be signed to take receipt of compost, which are available for download at home.wm.com/albany. 

WM EarthCare Homegrown Compost™ is made from Bay Area yard trimmings and residential food scraps. 

Why Compost?
It is now the law (SB 1383) to compost your food scraps, foodsoiled paper, and yard waste to prevent organic material from going to landfill where it decomposes and produces methane. The organic materials collected in your green cart are taken to a facility where it is turned into nutrient rich compost that makes a great soil amendment to your garden! Using compost can also decrease water usage through moisture retention during droughts.
