Candidates for General Municipal Election 2026

The following provides information regarding individuals who are seeking candidacy for the November 3, 2026 Election. This page will be updated as documents are submitted.

*** NOMINATION PERIOD: MONDAY, JULY 13, 2026 - FRIDAY, AUGUST 7, 2026, 12:30 PM ***

(Candidate Filing Period may be extended for non-incumbent to file nomination papers by 8/12/2026, 5:00 PM if an incumbent eligible for re-election does not file by 8/7/2026.

City Council Candidates ( 2 seats - 4 year term)

Board of Education Candidates ( 3 seats - 4 year term; 1 seat - 2 year term)

The candidates are listed above in the order that they obtained the nomination paper. The order of the

candidate names appearing on the ballot for the upcoming General Municipal Election will be determined by a

random drawing held on Thursday, August 13, 2024, 3:00 PM at City Hall, 1000 San Pablo Avenue, Albany. 

The public is invited to observe the procedure.
