In recent incidents reported throughout the region, suspects have been observed using a “come here” hand gesture to lure victims closer. Once engaged, the suspects place imitation jewelry, such as necklaces or bracelets, on the victims as a distraction. During this interaction, they covertly remove the victims’ real jewelry without their knowledge.
