Public Works performed necessary pavement repairs at the east approach to the Buchanan Bridge ahead of the rainy season. Work was scheduled to minimize impacts to Oceanview Elementary School, the Buchanan Bikeway and Bay Trail, and adjacent I-80/I-580 interchange. The project was completed successfully, funded as part of the Annual Street Rehabilitation Program (CIP No. 21000). The project was funded by Alameda CTC Measure B and BB Direct Local Distribution Local Streets & Roads pass-through funds.

Cars & Travel Lane Impacts

During work, one lane in either direction of the Buchanan Bridge will remain open to through traffic but roadway users should anticipate delays through the work zone. Please allow extra travel time into and out of the area.

Pedestrian & Trail Impacts

Work will require closure of the west leg crosswalk at Buchanan Bridge but pedestrian and bicycle access on Buchanan Bridge will remain available.
