Late in 2025 the State Coastal Conservancy awarded the City of Albany and the City of El Cerrito a grant to collaborate on a Wildfire Resilience demonstration project showing how communities can reduce wildfire hazards, address climate change, steward natural areas, and reuse urban wood. Components of the grant include tree removals, habitat restoration, milling and community engagement, and workforce development.

The public is invited to a series of four Community Wildfire Resilience Workshops. All ages are welcome.
