The Brighton Avenue Sewer Rehabilitation Project is in construction with anticipated completion in mid-winter. The project consists of removing existing 6” and 8” sewer mains and replacing with 12” sewer mains along Brighton Avenue and the connecting streets north of Brighton Avenue. In addition, there will be a rehabilitation of respective lower laterals, replacement and rehabilitation of sanitary manholes, and installation of sanitary clean outs.
During construction, detours will be in effect - please follow posted signage to navigate through the construction zone.

This and other City sewer rehabilitation projects reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) by improving operation of the sewer system and decreasing the risk of water-borne bacteria and pollutants reaching sidewalks, streets, storm drains, and local waterways.
This benefits pedestrian pathways, bicycling accessibility, and community health. Working to keep the City’s sewer system in good condition prevents contamination of clean water and protects surrounding environment from unnecessary impact.
