Join photographer Susan Chainey this Saturday at the Albany Community Center Foyer Gallery for an informal artist talk and question-and-answer session. Chainey will discuss her artistic practice, her history with alternative photographic processes, and the work on view in her current exhibition, Consider the Alternative: Adventures in Cyanotype.
The exhibition features Chainey's work with cyanotype, a 19th-century photographic process that never fails to surprise and encourage experimentation. Pieces are printed on a variety of bases, including fabric, handmade paper, tile, and acid-free conservation paper, and the show is designed to introduce visitors of all ages to the range of forms the medium can take.
