In June, the City will begin construction at Peggy Thomsen Pierce Street Park to make enhancements to the park's access, landscape and shade.

The project scope includes:

  • Installation of an asphalt path at the northeast entrance of the park
  • Installation of a bollard preventing vehicular traffic
  • Installation of two lumber entry stairs with a handrail; one at the southeast entrance near the restrooms and one north creating an additional entrance
  • Relocation of existing boulders and strategic installation of new landscape boulders
  • Installation of two shade sail structures to improve the shade for the play equipment and aesthetics of the playground

This project is made possible by the Prop 68 grant program and local Measure M Parks & Open Space Parcel Tax funds.
