Drug-related Arrest

On Friday February 20th, 2026, at approximately 3:21 am, an Albany Police Officer was on routine patrol in the 900 block of Masonic Avenue when he noticed a vehicle parked along the curb idling with its taillamps on and the occupant seated in the driver’s seat appeared to be asleep.  The officer conducted a check on the occupant during which time an open container of alcohol was observed in the vehicle.  Upon further inspection, significant amounts of drugs were located along with packaging materials, manufacturing materials, and a scale.  The drugs consisted of various types of illegal stimulants and hallucinogens.  The occupant was placed under arrest and taken into custody without incident.  The suspect, a white male adult from Oakland, was transported to Santa Rita Jail.  The charges consist of felonies for possession of controlled substances, possession of controlled substances for sale, manufacturing a controlled substance as well as four misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
